Hope everyone had a nice Independence Day!

Tonight Barry Zito looks to avoid becoming the majors first 13 game loser taking on Chan Ho Park and the Dodgers. Zito already has more losses than any Giants pitcher before the All Star Break and has more walks than strikeouts which is hurting him more than his reduced velocity.

While he did record a season high 6 strikeouts last start he also walked five and took a step backwards from his previous win vs the Indians in which he walked none. He has 22 walks over his last six starts.

Roy Halladay takes on John Lackey in the premier pitching matchup of the night. Lackey is 6-1 with a 1.44 era since coming off the disabled list. Halladay is 9-6 with a 2.90 era and leads the majors in complete games.

Red Sox SP Justin Masterson looks to halt his personal losing streak and give the Red Sox a third consecutive win vs Mike Mussina and the Yankees today. Masterson has walked too many recently and with Clay Buchholz (4-1, 1.63) dominating AAA it may only be a few more starts if Masterson can’t get it together before they switch spots.
