1. Edgar Renteria – SS Tigers – Renteria has been absolutely horrible. Somehow his average is still above .250 (.256) and he has only 5 hr and 3 sb. Last year he hit .332 with 12 hr and 11 sb. Expected to be a catalyst this year, he is losing playing time to unheard of minor leaguers. The last two games Detroit has scored a combined 29 runs. Renteria must have played a big role right? Wrong he was 0/8 in the two games.

2. Jimmy Rollins – SS Phillies - .271, 6 hr, 25 sb. The speed is still there, but where did the power go? After hitting 30 hr last season owners were thinking 40/40 possibility this year. Coming off an early injury the power has not returned.

3. Chone Figgins – Util Angels - .278, 0 hr, 17 sb. Not the type of numbers fantasy owners were thinking of from a top 50 preseason player.

4. Victor Martinez – C Indians – What a difference a year makes, last year VMart was in the midst of a career season, hitting .301 with 25 hr and 114 rbi. He was the consensus #1 catcher taken in most drafts and yet he had yet to hit a hr through 54 games before getting injured and missing over a month.

5. Eric Byrnes – OF Diamondbacks – The Dbacks are still in the hunt, but Byrnes was the leader last season with 21 hr and 50 sb to go with a solid .286 avg. He got it going early but slumped badly after having his red painted bats taken away. His injured hamstrings have him on the DL possibly for the rest of the season. Preseason rank top 50, at .209 with 6 hr he is sitting in the 800’s.
