Offseason Preview: Arizona Diamondbacks (Part One)

It was a banner season for Arizona’s Webb, who led the National League in wins, but it wasn’t enough to get the Diamondbacks into the playoffs.
What they need: A closer, a real 1b.
What they’ll get: K-Rod. The Mets would be the front runner for Francisco Rodriguez but his decreased velocity and the availability of Brian Fuentes will have K-Rod headed to Arizona to solidify a weak bullpen that saw Brandon Lyon singlehandedly blow game after game in September.
Losing Adam Dunn and resigning Randy Johnson for less money could open up enough money for Rodriguez, who will command closer to 5 years at $11 per year.
Eric Byrnes returns and should have something to prove after missing most of 2008 with a severe hamstring injury and killing my fantasy team.
