Japan Shuts Out Cuba Again

Published by llwesman at 10:39 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Japan’s international baseball success took a break on Tuesday in a loss to Korea. The team got back on track last night with another clean shutout of Cuba. Japan’s success seems to be based on their balance of superstars and rock solid defense and situational baseball.

Stars Ichiro Suzuki, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Kosuke Fukudome, Akinori Iwamura and Yu Darvish are big names that will be significant in semi-finals and final round. Japan faces Korea today in a seeding matchup. The two are fast building on their rivalry with flags being planted in pitching mounds and similar styles of baseball. Expect to see a well played game but one without too many risks or star pitchers. Should the teams reach the finals that would no doubt be a true classic.
