WBC Preview: Korea vs Venezuela

Published by llwesman at 10:33 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Venezuela rolls the dice tonight in the World Baseball Classic semi-final game sending Carlos Silva to the hill. Silva has been good in the WBC giving up just one run but nobody is going to mistake the overpaid Mariner for his ace teammate Felix Hernandez, who you would think they are saving for a potential championship game. They’re certainly playing for the tournament win, but its still an interesting choice to go with Silva instead of Felix or Tiger Armando Gallaraga.

Korea throws Suk-Min Yoon who has a zero ERA in the tournament in two starts. Yoon is a righty who went 14-5, 2.33 in the Korean League. Korea is led by Bum Ho Lee, who homered in the loss to Japan on Thursday. Winner takes on the USA-Japan winner.
