2009 Arizona Diamondbacks Top Five Prospects List

1. Jarrod Parker - RHP - A- - No question about Parker at the top of this relatively weak list. Parker has a power fastball but a small stature. He should be a powerful force behind Brandon Webb and Dan Haren in 2011 at the earliest if things work out, if not - he would be a top level relief pitcher with strong closing potential. Comp - Roy Oswalt
2. Geraldo Parra - OF - B- - Hit .286 with 28 steals but minimal power and run production. May never develop middle of the order power but he could be a useful player in a platoon role. ETA 2010 - Comp - Lastings Milledge
3. Reynaldo Navarro - SS - C - Still just 19 years old Navarro struck out more than Arizona had hoped and hit just .258 at rookie league Missoula. Comp - Clint Barmes
4. Dan Schlereth - LHP - B- - Son of former NFL player Mark is a lefty reliever with a power fastball and put together a solid career in college. He could contend for the Arizona closer job in 2009 as Arizona drafted him to move fast. Comp - BJ Ryan
5. Barry Enright - RHP - C- 143-35 K/BB rate in first full season - Enright should get a shot at a back-end of the rotation by 2011. Comp - Brad Hennessey
